Things That Don't Suck

Blogging to the Bank? Come On.

Rob Benwell’s Blogging to the Bank site brought out the skeptic in me. Somehow, it seemed a little too slick — a little too much in-your-face. Maybe that’s what it takes to sell a product nowadays, but I’m not real comforable with some of the techniques. Benwell says he’s made millions at the age of 24. He does have a money-back guarantee, so I figured I’d part with 37 bucks and see what he had to say.

I was pleasantly surprised. It actually does contain some new information that really can help you monetize your blog. The search engine tips alone were worth the price. Frankly, I don’t much care for his slash and burn methods, but I have little doubt they are effective. I don’t think they will make you a millionaire overnight, but I tried a few of them, and they do work. I don’t know how long they’ll work, given the ever-changing nature of search engines in general, but every little bit helps.

What I do like about his ebook is that it’s well-written, and to his credit, he doesn’t come off like some addled mini-guru, but someone who really does have expertise in what he does. The bonuses he offers on his site are pretty good, too — not like the usual crap you see.

His take on market research is dead on the money, as well.

Final Reco: Worth the price, especially if you are just getting started. Benwell really does know what he’s talking about when it comes to web 2.O marketing.
